Asger Fredslund has completed a career centred on a strong sense of teambuilding. He was on the Danish junior national team in handball, took a career in the military, stationed in Croatia and Bosnia under command of the United Nations Protection Forces and in 1994 he joined SIRIUS - The Royal Danish sledge patrol in Greenland.

Being in SIRIUS means tough physical challenges and an absolute necessity for teamwork and the sharing of knowledge.

Having spent three years in SIRIUS, Asger returned to business life, determined to share the experience of the arctic wasteland and the teamwork of SIRIUS through talks. In SIRIUS you travel in pairs with only the other part to support you in life-threatening conditions.

To listen to Asger talk about Greenland is to be up there in the arctic regions with him and to feel the gut-wrenching effort of every kilometre with the sledge dogs. It is to feel the misery of staring failure in the eye, and the jubilance of turning everything around and standing 'on top of the world.'

It is also a lesson about what each of us can achieve. It is about setting sights, taking initiative, overcoming fears and instead focus on sheer tenacity and grit. And it is about recognizing one's limitations and about working collectively with other people - about leadership and teamwork. 'Without the sledge dogs' he says, 'we could never have accomplished that mission.'
