Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson is Britain’s greatest Paralympic athlete and is recognized as one of the most gifted and courageous sportswomen of her generation. She has won 11 gold medals in five Paralympic Games. Between 1992 and 2002, she was crowned the winner of the London Wheelchair Marathon six times. In 2005 she received the title of ‘Dame’ Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE for her services to sport.
Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson was an expert commentator on the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, and became the first Paralympian to commentate on Olympic sports. By doing so, she proved that the emotions and experiences of elite sports people are universal.
The Baroness retired in 2007, but this action has not slowed her down. Instead, she played a prominent role in public life. In 2010, the Baroness was elevated to the House of Lords as a crossbench peer, and she participates actively in debates ever since, with a particular focus on sport, disability, health, welfare, and youth development.
Abundantly active in charity and non-profit work, Tanni Grey-Thompson is chair of ukactive, an organization that seeks to improve the health of British citizens by promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Furthermore, she is a member of the BBC Independent Diversity Action Group, and a board member for Transport for London and the London Legacy Development Corporation. Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson is also an ambassador for UNICEF and the President of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations.
With her ample and diverse experience from the worlds of politics, business, and sports, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson is the ultimate cross-over speaker. She understands the parallels between these worlds and knows the importance of teamwork, perseverance, adaptability, and the will to push oneself to the limit. An unique and strong communicator, she motivates and inspires audiences with her down to earth humour and lively personality.

Tanni was brilliant! Her speech was inspiring, motivating, funny and powerful, and feedback from the delegates has been fantastic! It was thought provoking and has given many of the delegates much to think about in relation to their own personal development.

Tanni was inspiring to listen to. She shared my insights throughout her life that many in business can relate to in their business and personal lives. She connected with the audience and was very well received, and spent time speaking with various members of the audience, which went down very well with all involved. We also appreciated the imagery on her slides that she spoke to, rather than pure text.
