Speaker Rasmus Ankersen is the Chairman of the Danish football club, FC Midtjylland, the former champions of the Danish Football League. Furthermore, he holds the position of Co-Director of Football at Brentford FC. Both are known as some of Europe’s most exciting and innovative football clubs, perhaps especially recognized for using big data to drive and inform the clubs’ decision-making.
Over the past few years, Rasmus Ankersen has shared his research on high-performance cultures by global brands such as LEGO, Google, Facebook, Boston Consulting Group, IKEA, Hitachi, Roche, Ernst & Young, and many more. In 2012 he published the book The Gold Mine Effect, in which he explores how some countries and cities around the world develop a disproportionate amount of top talent. In 2016, he published Hunger in Paradise: a book about how successful organizations can remain successful by eliminating complacency.
Why are 137 of the world’s 500 best female golfers from South Korea? How did one athletic club in Kingston, Jamaica, succeed to produce most of the world’s best sprinters? What is the reason that the world’s best marathon runners grew
up in the same village in Ethiopia? What is the secret behind Brazil’s mass production of soccer superstars? How has one village with 500 inhabitants in Sweden managed to produce the best skiers in history?
In this speech, Rasmus presents his surprising conclusions on how any business, organization, or team can learn to dramatically improve their ability to identify, grow and motivate talent by understanding the secrets of the gold mines.
Audience takeaways:
While organizations talk a lot about how to achieve the success they talk way too little about the consequences of success. About the complacency, arrogance, and resistance to change, which often follow as a shadow of success. Success often produces complacency. It happens to individuals, companies, and nations. Rasmus Ankersen has studied how successful companies can stay successful, and in this speech, he will share his answers to questions.
Audience takeaways:
“Rasmus was the perfect speaker. Great content, powerful stories, credible and engaging. He really helped us get our message across in a way that resonated with the audience. He was also a pleasure to work with – very flexible and understanding, and making the production side a lot easier for us. Thank you, Rasmus!”
Rasmus spoke at two events that we ran in 2014, and he was consistently rated as one of the best speakers to take the stage. Importantly, he was able to draw on wide range of experiences and stories that resonated with a particularly diverse audience, which is often one of the most challenging aspects when searching for inspirational keynote speakers.
Outstanding. Rasmus Ankersen’s charismatic and compelling presentation challenges your assumptions and will change your view of how successful companies stay successful. A “call to action” for all business leaders.
