Tomas Sedlacek’s stellar career undoubtedly reached a turning point upon publication of his book, The Economics of Good and Evil, in 2011. Not just a best-seller in the Czech Republic, it has been translated into 17 languages and received the award of the best economic book title in Germany.
The book is based on his thesis that he initially submitted to the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University. Surprisingly, it was rejected at the time, having been deemed as questionable scientific value. A theatre production based on his book draws a rapt audience at the National Theatre in Prague.
Tomas currently enjoys his role as Chief Macroeconomic Strategist to one of the largest commercial banks in the Czech Republic. He also makes time to take on lectures at the prestigious Charles University and advises many non-profit organizations. He writes regular newspaper columns for international publications.His keynote speeches touch upon a myriad of different subjects, as diverse as religion, philosophy, and mythology, and yet, all tied in to his unique view of economics. Much in demand as a media commentator, his topics include future wealth, changing the nature of industry, and the movement of nations.
