Jaeson has unparalleled experience building effective teams at the border and he captivates audiences with real-time frontline accounts of security issues. Jones exudes the optimism of a ‘man on a mission’ to “Servare Vitas” (to save lives) by fixing the growing cartel problem – arguably the biggest threat to homeland and global security.
Jones is a retired Captain from the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Intelligence and Counterterrorism Division. He managed the daily operations for the Texas Rangers, Border Security Operations Center. He supervised Human Intelligence operations in several nations and managed Intelligence lead operations for the longest 24/7 border operation in Texas history, Operation Secure Texas.
Mr. Jones served as the Critical Incident Commander in the State Intelligence Center during both Fort Hood shootings, Austin IRS Echelon building attack, University of Texas active shooter incident, Odessa shooting involving four officers shot with over 1,200 rounds fired, Ranger Recon Mexican Cartel shooting, Murder of a Bexar County Sergeant, and the Bastrop County wildfire disaster.
Jaeson Jones has led investigations targeting Mexican cartels leadership and built programs that collaborated closely with the U.S. intelligence community to help save lives in Mexico and throughout the United States.
Given his knowledge of Mexican Cartel operations and threats involving border security, Mr. Jones frequently speaks to executives within all disciplines of homeland security throughout the nation. His focus is on best practices for combating transnational threats and the spread of violent criminal networks.
Jaeson has been impacted by what he has witnessed. Today he crosses the country speaking about what is happening but more importantly sharing proven solutions to fix the problems.

Jaeson's engaging presentation, before our diverse public safety audience, was well received and eye-opening. Most had no sense of the breadth of impact the cartels could have in our area, being so far away from the Mexico-US border. Jaeson was able to bridge the knowledge gap in a way that was both interesting and impactful!

Having thirty-three years of law enforcement experience, I am continually impressed by the magnitude of knowledge and insight possessed by Jaeson Jones. His delivery of Cartel violence is both powerful and professional. His presentations are eye-opening, as well as a true learning experience.

Jaeson possesses a refreshing propensity for articulating the complex issues surrounding the border security environment. He frames the discourse in a way that compels this audience to critically examine border issues from the different cultural and professional perspectives. Perhaps most impressive, is his ability to incorporate a systems-thinking perspective that both transcends and narrows the gap between academia and practitioner.
