Sarah Outen MBE spent a decade pursuing extraordinary journeys across the globe, often remote and generally solo, by human-powered means. Her London2London: Via the World journey saw her row, cycle and kayak a 25,000 mile loop of the northern hemisphere over 4.5 years. Her ocean rowing journeys earned her multiple firsts and world records, and they also cost her dearly in terms of her health. Sarah shares candidly of the highs and lows of expedition life, expertly weaving tailored learnings through her narratives according to her client’s goals.
An experienced story teller, known for putting audiences at ease with her warmth and calm, disarming style, Sarah holds people through the drama and tension of her journeys with her trademark authenticity. Sarah’s goal is always to leave audiences considering their own ability to ride out storms and pursue successes differently, too.

Sarah Outen is a phenomenal storyteller with a journey to share that is so remarkable that it’s impossible to leave her sessions untouched. There are so many great learnings from Sarah’s story, and her way to capture failure and near death experiences and turn it into something applicable to YOUR life, is something that we don’t often see. We are delighted to partner with Sarah on our leadership programs and recommend her wholeheartedly.
The team really picked up on the flexibility, adaptability and agility commentary as well as our own roles (and responsibility) as “The Village” to support each other along the way. The warmth and candidness of the whole piece also really struck home.
