"It was really well received, everyone I’ve spoken to said how engaging she was and they found the whole event a real lift in these weirdest of times. I think the video element sort of felt more personal for people, unfortunately for Ruby there isn’t any audience immediate feedback because we have to turn out microphones off but we all turned them on for a final applause"

“Nothing will change until we change the lens through which we see the world. My mission in writing this book is to find out where the green shoots of hope are and who is tending them?” -Speaker Ruby Wax
After moving to Britain from the US to train as an actress, speaker Ruby Wax began her career at the Royal Shakespeare Company. She achieved great success with the BBC as a comedian and interviewer and edited several scripts for films and TV programmes including Absolutely Fabulous. Turning her attention to neuroscience and psychotherapy, Ruby graduated at Oxford University with a Master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Furthermore, Ruby Wax is an Honorary Senior Fellow of Regent’s University London with a Master’s degree earned in Psychotherapy and Counselling.
Ruby is a genuine expert of mental health. Her two bestsellers Sane New World and A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled are a captivating combination of mindfulness, neuroscience and comedy. In 2012, Ruby Wax presented her outstanding TED Talk What’s So Funny about Mental Illness? which established her position as an internationally acclaimed mental health speaker. As Ruby experienced the battle with clinical depression herself, she frequently speaks at Parliament and Downing Street to raise money for neuroscience and to break the stigma around mental health. In 2015, Ruby was honoured with an OBE for her Services to Mental Health.
As a speaker Ruby Wax works closely with organisations and corporate leaders to show them how to communicate on an effective and deep level with clients and employees. Her great expertise in mental health already contributed to the success of top companies like Apple, Google and Bank of England. In partnership with Marks and Spencer, Ruby is launching her Frazzled Cafes to help people with mental problems or feeling frazzled.
