We were privileged to have Aaron join us for 15 sessions of our Culture of Caring at Providence St. Joseph Hospital. His story of resilience, hope, gratitude, human connection, and passion for living each day to the fullest inspired our team of over 2,300 caregivers and physicians. We have all been challenged the last few years through the pandemic, but to hear Aaron’s “Rebellious Recovery” ongoing for over 23 years inspired us all to fill our hearts with more gratitude and seek ways to help on another and push ourselves. It was great having him join us before each session and comfortably stay after to meet and talk with as many of our caregivers as possible. On a side note, I had a chance to mountain bike with him, his determination and joy for being outdoors is inspiring and pushes me to put in some extra hill work as well!

Aaron Baker is a former professional motocross athlete who suffered a career-ending spinal cord injury in 1999. Despite being paralyzed from the chin down, he refused to let his injury define him and instead focused on rebuilding and redefining his life. Through years of dedication and hard work, Aaron has become a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and ambassador for spinal cord injury.

As a speaker, Aaron inspires audiences with his powerful story of overcoming adversity and the fundamental tools he used to rebuild his mind and body. He has delivered keynote speeches to corporate and educational audiences, as well as to the healthcare industry. Additionally, Aaron is a published author and a contributor to various media outlets, including the Huffington Post.
