Amanda Spann is an innovation strategist and app entrepreneur with a background in brand development who has a professional focus on helping individuals and institutions, both domestically and abroad, design, launch and grow new products, incubation programs and entrepreneurship ecosystems. Over her career she has coached, consulted and created content for over 30,000 entrepreneurs.
She currently splits her time between coaching aspiring entrepreneurs at The App Accelerator, a program to help non-technical entrepreneurs build their first mobile app and being the Head of Community for Tech Beach, the leading technology ecosystem for the Caribbean Diaspora.
Prior to her current roles, Amanda co-founded Tiphub, an impact driven innovation community for entrepreneurs in Africa and the African Diaspora and the hosts of Diaspora Demo Day, once the largest US-based pitch competition for African led startups. She also served as CMO of Blerdology, a tech social enterprise to support and engage the black tech community and the first organization to host hackathons targeting African-Americans. The company helped to spark interest innovation and assisted minority entrepreneurs build their apps or web-based ventures for little to no cost.
Amanda and her work have been featured in Wired, TechCrunch, Fast Company, NPR, Black Enterprise, HLN, Business Insider, Inc, and VentureBeat.
