"There's a saying, "Some are born great and some have greatness thrust upon them." Well, maybe Azran benefits from both. Yes, place my name in the column for his fan club. But seriously, he's smart, open-minded, and has a fun personality. Azran provides a challenge to those stuck in the past because he's taking his company into the future. In some ways, he's similar to a dandelion plant - I think he'd flourish in any type of soil or in any industry."

With a magnetic style and overcoming spirit, Azran brings enriching tools for dealing with business obstacles to global listeners.
A veteran tech entrepreneur, Azran co-founded MoneyMatch, Cognifyx, iflix, and YellowPorter. As CEO of iflix’s Malaysia office and the Group COO, he helped lead the video-on-demand service to expansive growth in 30 markets in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East within three years of the company’s 2015 launch.
As the founding CEO of AirAsia X, a long-haul, low-cost airline, Azran led the company’s start-up, raising capital to launch its first flight. Since 2007, the company grew from owning one to 26 aircraft and employing more than 2,500 employees. With $1billion in annual revenue in 2014, the airline pioneered long-haul firsts, including business class flatbed seating, quiet zones, and fly-through connections. Innovation played an integral role in the airline’s success.
As the current founder of a digital health tech brand, called Naluri Hidup, Azran’s new venture offers cost-effective, digital solutions for mental health. Leveraging technology to offer wellness support to users, the brand promotes healthy lifestyles for its customers.

The messages I share on disruptive innovation and challenging the status quo, building brands in emerging markets, shaping an innovative organizational culture and attacker’s mindset, developing leaders and scaling businesses – all come from my direct personal experiences, both the good and the bad. It’s this first-hand authenticity that connects with audiences. I share practical examples of management practices I have used, which can be applied to any organization, big or small, private or public sector – with the right leadership mindset and drive. The biggest value often comes from the question-and-answer exchange that follows, as my stories inevitably spark curiosity and engagement with audiences.
Even more impactful than keynote speeches are my custom-designed masterclass workshops that engage participants with interactive leadership and team-building exercises, actionable frameworks and advice, practical notes, and memorable stories. These are based on my experience as a CEO, organizing many leadership retreats and management workshops to engage and inspire my teams, to rally around a common vision and goals, and raise our professional game.
Themes for my masterclass workshops include:
building high-performance teams: values-based candidate selection and onboarding, performance management and two-way feedback, and mentorship
moving with speed and agility and navigating through uncertainty
design thinking and customer-focused innovation
Maximising mental resilience for peak performance – the Ironman triathlete approach to business leadership.
"It has been a real pleasure getting to know Azran and working with him over the years. He is a unique CEO - a great combination of strategic skills and operational acumen. He is a cut-through thinker who can distill complex issues to their essence. Azran is a very good listener and is always open to a counter point of view. Azran's ability to get things done has been instrumental in getting AirAsia X off to a fast start as a new airline with a pioneering business model. Finally, I've always admired Azran's ability to manage a great work-life balance despite a demanding job - he has graduated from Marathons to Ironman competitions!"

"Well I knew Azran already because we are on the Curtin Asia Business Centre advisory Board together so I knew he was a very interesting character and I think he gives you just a different perspective about what's happening in the world."
Greg Gaunt
"He was exciting, innovative, challenged the status quo. That was the best thing about it and as a consequence makes you rethink a lot of traditional theory."
Steven Cole
"Azran set up the AirAsia X brand with the inaugural route being Kuala Lumpur - Gold Coast. The great relationship that was borne out this link with Gold Coast Airport continues. Azran has always been a leader and has worked tirelessly to keep business fresh, exciting and on the way up!"
Michael Curtis
"How many high ranking people in the corporate world will respond to customer feedback and make an effort to incorporate recommendations and change? Well! Azran is one of the select few who makes the effort to respond and address customer needs. I still fly Air Asia in their bucket seats (though they are being changed now) because of the efforts and feedback led by exemplary leadership and good management practices."
