Bob has over 40 years of military and corporate experience, working in some of the most challenging and hostile environments on the planet, and now aims to help people to be the best they can be. Sharing what he has learned along the way, he will help inspire your teams to better understand how they can enhance their own skills to perform better under pressure, and become more confident, resilient and effective leaders.
From the Cold War front line in RAF Germany, through the operational flying environments over Iraq and Bosnia, and on to the new Eurofighter Typhoon, and the Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Bob’s 3,500 hours on 11 different aircraft types have been fast, furious, fun and occasionally frantic.
With a focus on the needs of the specific audience, Bob uses this wealth of flying experience to entertain, inspire and amuse audiences in more social settings such as dinners or on team awaydays. There is benefit in the fun element though! Many of Bob’s flying stories also carry great leadership lessons and experiences that are valuable to leaders and team members alike.
Bob’s father died when he was only 3 years old, so his early life was very challenging. He went to school at Christ’s Hospital, Horsham and subsequently returned there as a school governor for 8 years through to the summer of 2024. That combined experience has given Bob tremendous insight into the challenges facing young people as they prepare to enter the workplace.
He uses his experience, and the exciting subject matter of flying aircraft, to entertain, educate and inspire young people, not only about careers in the military, but also about the importance of self development, personal choices and leadership in all walks of life.
