David has expertise in public speaking and group facilitation on the topics of: Leadership & Change Management, Art & Poetry and Mental Health & Diversity. Called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2000, he was a member of the legal team, which brought the largest group action claim in the UK on behalf of thousands of South African asbestos miners.
David is also the founder and director of ELECT, a provider of community mental health services. The organization utilizes poetry as a vehicle for expression for patients and professionals in mental health services. An advocate in the London community for raising achievement and aspirations among disadvantaged school children, he launched the Elect Education Program. The initiative has taken school students to 10 Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, The Supreme CourtÂ
and The White House. Through his activism of Mental Health, David is also involved with working with the staff and patients at Broadmoor, one of the largest mental health institutions in the UK.
David’s experience with keynote speaking is varied as it is impressive. Speaking at events with Nasa astronauts, annually delivering the keynote address to Gold Award Graduates at the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and gave a joint speech with First Lady Michelle Obama.
