Speaker Dan Reidenberg has an educational background in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and shortly after received his Doctor of Clinical Psychology. Dan is a well-known name in the field of suicide prevention and is also the managing director of the National Council for Suicide Prevention in the USA.
Dan is a versatile speaker and has spoken at several different events in front of all types of people. Dan Reidenberg has contributed to better research and knowledge within suicide prevention and has developed one of only three evidence-based programs for schools listed on the National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs, and he is passionate about helping the next generation on mental health and suicide prevention through media and technology. Speaker Dan Reidenberg is a regularly featured expert in the media on everything with children’s mental health, chemical health, suicide, parenting, teen mental health and more.
As a speaker Dan Reidenberg provides knowledge and the right tools to communicate and tackle challenges regarding suicide and depression. Adolescence is a turbulent time, for them and often for their parents. It is helpful to know what is “normal” adolescent development and when mental health challenges arise, as well as what to do in order to protect them and minimize the risk they become suicidal. In this presentation you will learn information on the prevalence of the most common mental health issues for adolescents, how to talk with them, support them and recognize warning signs of greater risk. We also cover all of the basic information on suicide prevention (data, research, practical information on how to ask the question, how to respond, what to do, etc.)
