Dr. Greg Wells is a human physiologist with a rare ability to bridge world-class science and everyday life. After earning a PhD in human physiology from the University of Toronto, he completed post-doctoral fellowships at The Hospital for Sick Children and Toronto General Hospital. His academic career includes work as a tenured professor at the University of Toronto and his current role as a Senior Scientist at The Hospital for Sick Children. Over the years, he has published more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific papers, contributing to a deep understanding of performance, recovery, sleep, metabolism and mental health.
Alongside his academic work, Dr. Wells has spent decades applying science in the real world. He has worked as a physiologist with more than 200 Olympians and served as Director of Sport Science for the Canadian Sport Institute, supporting athletes at the highest level of international competition. Dr. Greg Wells’ background as an elite athlete and endurance adventurer brings a powerful human dimension to his work. He has completed Ironman Canada, run the Nanisivik marathon more than 600 miles north of the Arctic Circle, and cycled 11,000 kilometers in the Tour D’Afrique, the longest cycling race in the world. These experiences allow him to speak authentically about resilience, recovery, focus and performance under pressure.
