Most groups request a one-hour delivery of Jim's presentation, Controlling Risk—In A Dangerous World, which is based on the book he wrote with the same title. In satisfying this common request, Jim discusses principles-based techniques for operating excellence in hazardous environments, mostly through pictures and stories. Though he welcomes questions during my presentation, Jim finds that people rarely comment but rather listen intently. He enjoys reserving time at the end for questions and answers.

Jim Wetherbee offers a second presentation on the Ten Adverse Characteristics that are commonly in place in organizations just prior to experiencing a major disaster or several minor accidents. This can be considered the ‘negative side,’ or what not to do, in dangerous operations; company personnel can use this list of ten adverse characteristics to assess their current state of operations, how they are doing, and whether they are headed for trouble.  

(Target audience: Leaders at all Levels in the Organization).

For the executive-level leaders and board members in companies that have a vision of becoming great operators, Jim presents an outline for creating a culture of Operating Excellence. Though this presentation, which contains pictures and stories, usually requires less than one hour, the valuable, open dialogue during and after the presentation can extend the presentation by one-half hour, or longer. 

Jim Wetherbee does also offer:

• Montage: He is willing to sign a montage of space flight photographs for each participant, if the organization desires to produce copies of the (8” by 10”) picture from a single high-fidelity electronic file he can send to them. 
• Unstructured Conversations: Jim offers to have open, unstructured conversations with leadership teams, or any other internal teams, to discuss any topics or challenges the team members face. He enjoy conversations about leadership, teamwork, operations, safety, procedures, or other topics related to controlling risk. Sometimes this type of event is conducted after a dinner the night before a symposium. 
• Human Space Exploration: Finally, for groups that are interested in space-related stories, Jim offers an inspiring presentation on the early space program in the US when humans left the gravitational bonds of Earth for the first time in our 4.5 billion-year history and travelled to another celestial body. He continues by sharing his experiences in space on the Space Shuttle, the Russian Space Station, or the International Space Station, and give an outlook to the future of space exploration.
