Karen Cvitkovich is an expert on global leadership and workforce development. Her passion is collaborating with clients and partners to ensure successful business results between international counterparts, leaders and multinational teams. Her holistic approach brings her beyond culture, and into the intricacies of how international business is carried-out, allowing her to help solve complex people, process, and systemic global challenges.
Over the past 20 years, Karen has had the opportunity to work with clients and partners on global projects in more than 40 countries across all continents. She has developed and led multinational teams in Europe, the USA and Asia/Pacific, and her impressive list of global clients includes Sanofi, Oracle, Teva, Sunovion, Red Hat, Mozilla Firefox, Apple, Bayer, Biogen Idec, Boston Scientific, Chevron, Comverse, Danfoss, Dell, EMC, Ernst & Young, ExxonMobil, Fidelity, LEGO, L’Oreal, Marriott, Novartis, Oracle and Wal-Mart, to name a few.
Karen Cvitkovich has previously served as Managing Director for Global Talent Development at Aperian Global, and has worked as a Senior Consultant in intercultural consulting, coaching and multinational teambuilding for two decades. She has designed and facilitated learning and consulting projects for intact teams, team leaders, and individual contributors on subjects such as globalization, negotiations, conflict resolution, multinational teambuilding, global leadership and virtual communications. Prior to this, Karen was Director of Training for United Way of Mass Bay, and Regional Director for EF Education.
Karen Cvitkovich is the author of the books What is Global Leadership: 10 Key Behaviors that Define Great Global Leaders (2011), written with Dr. Ernest Grundling and Terry Hogan, and Leading Across New Borders: How to Succeed as the Center Shifts (2015), which explores how shifts in the world economies, demographics and culture will impact the challenges and strategies of today’s global leaders. In addition to this, she is the author of several articles.
A captivating and experienced speaker, Karen Cvitkovich is frequently asked to speak at various industry conferences such as SHRM, ASTD, and SIIC. She holds a Master’s Degree in Training & Organization Development from Lesley University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Human Resources from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Karen has experience with a number of psychometric instruments, and is certified on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Hay Group Leadership / Climate Instrument. In addition to this, she has participated in a certificate program with the NeuroLeadership Institute and is a Certified CTI Co-Active Coach.
