As the child of a single-parent upbringing, Marques Ogden has great respect for his father who inspired him to persevere and achieve his dreams. By setting goals, he managed to attend Howard University to play Division I football. Drafted into the NFL by 2003, he began his professional football career as an offensive lineman as a player for the Titans, Ravens, Bills, and Jaguars.
By 27-years old, Ogden founded a successful construction business, named Kayden Premier Enterprises. After a few years of rapid growth, the business failed, and Ogden faced some of the toughest challenges of his life. He applied perseverance and patience, which he learned from his father and the NFL. Ogden is now one of the top motivational speakers in the country. He provides inspiration to military, sports, and corporate audiences, including JP Morgan, Siemens, and Home Depot.
As the author of a popular memoir, he pens a poignant story about his life and NFL career. The book, entitled Sleepless Nights, is an autobiography, which details the innerworkings of the NFL and offers a truthful look inside the organization. Readers may find inspiration in the story, which covers Ogden’s best and worst moments, including his stint overcoming gambling and drinking challenges.
