Martin Brundle is a former Formula One driver turned accomplished commentator and speaker. His extensive career in motorsport spans decades, having raced in touring cars, Formula 3, Formula One, sports cars, and more. Martin's accolades include being the World Sports Car Champion and a senior figure in British motorsport as the Chairman of the Board of the British Racing Drivers' Club, owners of Silverstone, and Chairman of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association.
Martin's racing career began at a young age, having built and raced his own grass track car at just 12 years old. He later joined the BP Audi team, where he partnered with the legendary Sir Stirling Moss in touring cars. Martin's success in touring cars led him to pursue single-seater racing, and he joined Eddie Jordan Racing in 1983 to compete in the British Formula 3 Championship.
After a titanic duel with Brazilian Ayrton Senna, both men graduated to Formula One in 1984. Martin drove for the Tyrrell Racing Organisation for three seasons, scoring a 2nd place in the US Grand Prix in Detroit in 1984, among other podium finishes. Martin later went on to compete in the World Sportscar Championship, American IMSA series, and Le Mans 24 Hours sports car race, achieving multiple victories and a World Sportscar Championship title for Jaguar.
In 1997, Martin joined ITV Sport as a commentator, where he worked alongside the legendary Murray Walker for 12 seasons. He later moved to the BBC and, in 2012, joined Sky Sports F1, where he continues to broadcast to English-speaking audiences worldwide. With six Royal Television Society awards and four BAFTA awards for Best Sporting Programme, Martin is widely regarded as one of the most respected and insightful voices in motorsport.
